I have a ACS R6 with a 400E card and VSR5. Customer complained of ring trip (incoming calls ring once and then hangup). I replaced the ACS processor with a brand new R6 processor. The problem went away. Now it's back, but it doesn't happen all of the time, it is intermittent. I tested the whole system and everything is working properly. Incoming calls are working fine. Except in some instances, so I'm told, calls will ring once they pick up, no-one there. It happens several times in a row. We've complained to Verizon, they've found nothing.

Anyone have any tips or guidance on how to proceed. All lines are standard POTS from Verizon (no Fios, no Cable modem).

It is network related. Carbons, as previously stated either at your MPOE or a multiple. Hi-res short in network. I would disconnect the line from your ACS and make several test calls to the line, if you hear any static during the ring cycle that would be indicitve of an network issue. Multiples call to your LEC may be required before they initiate a repair ticket. Worse case scenario is you have a telemarketer (auto dialer) calling you and disconnecting. You have already replaced your processor, you can eliminate that as a cause.
