some older cdr did have a simular prompt to add a few seconds delay to a call timer. instead of reading actual answer supervision time stamp, you needed to est the time between the last digit and ring presutation on the far end. at one time, before i had gray hair, that could be as much as two minutes.. now ti is meausered in micro seconds.. with a pri and bars built right, 1st ring is less the .07 seconds after last dialed digit, coast to coast.. make a call to a remote site, talk to them on a spk phone, make a second call and try to time the delay between you last digit and the time you hear the ring get back to you over the remote spkr phone.. now devide that by two... long post to say it's not a normal factor anymore
