I have some 5410 telephones with some "hard-wired" plantronics headsets plugged into them. Is it possible to get the phone to ring into the headset as opposed to the speaker/handset? I would like to use a basis headset along with SoftConsole and my telephone so that I can answer the call using SoftConsole and have it go directly to my headset and not the speakerphone. As it is now (unless I manually hit the headset button) if a call comes into the telephone and I answer the call with SoftConsole it comes through the speakerphone. What should I do so that all calls will ring and be answered through the headset port?

Press "Headset" so that you have a dialtone. Then hit "Drop". That's it!
(And Offhook station should be selected).

Thank you so much! It works great. Is there anyway to get the ringtone to pass through the headset? The phone still rings but everything else works great. Also - did you find this by experience or is this documented somewhere? Nowhere did I find anything related to hitting the headset button then the drop button!

It's the same way it has been done in years on analog phones.. I haven't seen it in any documentation either.
On the DS phones it will always ring on the phone. On analog phones it will ring the headset.
