Ring on both 2616 and 500

I've read other posts concerning this, but those just made me more confused. Hopefully someone can help.

We have a user with a 2616 phone (x 212), who is taking another office with a 500 phone (x 165). He wants both phones to ring at the same time, and it doesn't matter if the other phone is busy or idle during the call. Is this possible?

Someone mentioned just punching both phone lines into the same block, but I don't think that will work with digital handsets, will it?

If he wants the DN to appear on both, just assign the analog TN the dame DN. If both need to be in use on separate calls, make them both an MCR. You will have to remove the SCR appearance on the difital first, then put it back as an MCR key before you program the analog as MCR.

YOU COULD CHANGE THE EXT ON THE 500 TO 212 THEN BOTH WILL RING, BUT THERE IS NO WAY TO MAKE A 500 RING IF IT'S BUSY

I know that you loose line privacy on an SCR when the same number is assigned to an analog and a digital set. Is that the case with MCR as well? I found out about this the hard way when I programmed an analog conference phone with the same DN as the VP/GM. Just something to think about ;-) JK

it is not the case with a mcr, the second mcr is idle when the 1st in in use, you need mcra in the class of the analog..
