Have a customer with a BCM 50 w/2.0 software. The problem is that when the system is idle the operator's phone will get a continous ring that can only be stopped by unplugging the phone. The phone has been changed out,the port has been changed(from the main cabinet to the expansion cabinet),cable pairs have been changed. Has anyone run accross this problem??

Can you determine whether it's the intercom line or an external line that's ringing? Or does the set just ring with no visual indicator?

DN has been changed. Tested and changed back. When the ringing occurs there is no indicator lit to signify wether it is internal or external call.

Sounds like you've covered everything physical that it could be.

Reboot it! If the problem comes back after that, you might have to start deleting things and re-create them. It actually sounds like a "stuck" ring bit in the digital stream to the set.

Let's see, DN changed, port changed, telephone changed? Then where's it happening at?

Adversity is Opportunity

There was a problem with phantom ringing on release 1 systems.
It caused the phone to ring continually until a warm reset was done.
It was only caused by Analogue lines not BRI
this was cured with the latest patches.
