I am newbie working on a 6x16 with DR5 and voicemail 1.8.04

I have 3 phones/extensions with each phone having all 4 of my phone numbers on them on different buttons, each line rolls over to the other line when busy via phone companies configuration. When a call comes in and everyone is busy answering other lines, that after 4 rings the customer gets put on hold in some manner. Is there a way to configure the 6x16 and voicemail so that if it rings 4 times without answer it somehow puts the customer on hold. If it can, then how would the voicemail ring back to one of the 4 phones? Would it just show that line blinking on the phones? How would the person answering the phone know someone is waiting?

Thanks in advance!

I'll take a stab here ... question a bit confusing...
Your voice mail is likely answering the unanswered call not putting it on hold. The caller is likely presented with certain options... press the # key for company directory, press 2 for the parts dept etc. You must make a corporate decision whether to answer all calls then put them on hold to be picked up by the next available person.. or allow the Auto attendant to ROUTE them in a path you determine. There is NO 'auto hold' feature with a 6/16 and Flash.
Your Flash is a great unit. If unexpanded it has the ability to add an ACD expansion board. The Auto Attendant/ACD can answer and put calls on 'hold' until an agent can answer. But this is at some extra cost and may not be worth it for your company. If you deam it is worth a couple of thousand plus.. then contact your vendor and ask about the Compact Integrated Communications System CICS and Call Pilot 100 bundle of new equipment. You may find the bundle price within one third of just an add on for your old. CP100 has a small ACD in it and as long as you are spending some large bucks you may as well get some bang for it. There are a whole host of other features with a CICS/CP100 bundle that make your existing system look a little old. Lastly there is some good value to your existing equipment with which you may be able to offset the cost of an upgrade. ABOVE all else shop around amoungst ALL of the available vendors no matter how small. AND check for references. A good small vendor will gladly put you in touch with other satisfied customers.

Does the callpilot 100 have the acd active out of the box or do you need to purchase a keycode ugrade

Callpilot 100 does not have basic call center, but the 150
does.

Call Pilot installation addendum shows call center 'optional' for both CP 100 & 150.

I knew it was availible for the 150 but I am unsure he that is availible for the 100

Checked callpilot install CD, call center is not optional
on the callpilot 100.
