We've an old Hipath 3800, support dropped a while ago so we've been making basic changes ourselves. It's due for replacement, but it probably won't happen until next year.

We have many hunt groups configured, and for reception cover we started forwarding the reception phone to one of the spare groups. It works just fine unless a member of the hunt group has their phone set to voicemail - in which case the system responds with "mailbox not available" and dumps the call.

It's not the end of the world as we've instructed members not to use this feature - but can anyone explain why this happens?

Typically when the main/piolot phone of a hunt group is forwarded it deactivates the whole hunt group. If an individual phone is forward it "temporarily removes" it from the hunt group. In the first case calls would not hunt at all and would follow the forward to the target, and in the second case the hunt group should skip over that phone.
