Ring Down Circuits?

Does the IPO handle these well?
If so,what's involved?Do you need a shortcode or can a line appearance do the job?

If you are referring to an inbound call, you just set up an incoming call route to go to the extension you want to ring. If you want a 'hot phone' that automatically dials a number when picked up, I believe you would set up a dial emergency short code?

Dial Direct Hotline is the user feature, and PlatinumGuy I believe it's an American term, we use it for elevator phones and other places where you are required by law to setup an automatic dial to emergency services

Ring downs are circuits that when seized immediately ring the other end.Brokers in the financial industry use thwm.I was wondering if anyone had successfully used them on IPO and if the latest 4.0 maint. release literally "seized" the actual trunk like Avaya says.
Any input much appreciated.
We are looking to have a line appearance button do all the work,not short codes.

If you create a user short code on a user, obviously

?D 123456789 dial

When that user goes offhook it will dial 123456789 auto.

Thanks guys-the idea is to duplicate what they have now,which is one button that will ring on incoming or dial automatically on outbound.
That's why I was asking if anyone had seen a CO line seizure do this.
These guys are brokers and don't tolerate workarounds.
I may be able to simulate this in my lab.
I will post the results.

i have 4.0.7 set up with line appearances and if you press the line you get the real line dialtone. so this will work for a ring down. i have put alot of ring downs on other systems not on the IPO but it should work. Just remember you have to put an incoming call route in order for it to come in at all.

I'm going to try it in my lab connected to our Definity this week.If the system seizes real dialtone it should work.I would like to see it ring my Definity with CO trunks set to auto.I'll post if it works.
