I am trying to give a user read/write/modify rights to a few of the files in a directory, but NOT all of them. After selecting the 3 files I want, and giving the rights, I cannot modify them under the user I gave the access to. Even if I give every right to the user for those 3 files, it says that the file is read-only, and I cannot modify it.
I come to realize that it says the directory itself is read-only, which is why I cannot modify. The directory is not read-only, but I'm assuming that because I set rights for files in the directory, and not rights on the directory itself, Novell sees it as read-only for that user.
Basically, I need to know how to set rights for that directory to let a user view/modify only 3 files. Please tell me what I'm doing wrong. Thanks in advance.
