Rights needed for Bulk Insert

Microsoft says: “Only members of the sysadmin fixed server role can run a package that contains a Bulk Insert task.”

I got an error trying to run a Bulk task that a co-worker could run with no problem.

So in my Login Properties, Server Roles, I was made a sysadmin.

But I'm still unable to run the Bulk task.

What else might need changing?

What does Msft mean by 'fixed server role'?

Try this....go to Login>Server Roles and grant bulkadmin. Remove the sysadmin permissions. Now try your Bulk Insert. bulkadmin is the role we grant to users that need to do bulk inserts.
