I'm trying to get a SIP Rightfax server to dial out through the IP Office. I saw a previous thread where kwing112000 said he got this to work. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I apologize, that was extremely vague.

I have an IP500v2 with SIP trunks connected to the RightFax server.
I'm running version 6.0(18) software load.
I can get the incoming routing to work, but I can't seem to figure out how to make the outbound SIP call terminate to my PRI trunks to place an outgoing call.

I think my issue is somewhere between the incoming call route and the shortcode that I would use, but I'm stumped.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Chris

Make a user shortcode

Example

0N (0 as a prefix and N for the number)
Dial
N (the number)
Line id of ARS or PRI.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

Create an incoming call router.

Line Group ID to match the SIP line

Incoming number blank

Destination . or another shortcode to dial using another line group

Thanks so much for the replies. I've tried different shortcodes, and incoming call routes the one that seemed to work the best was:

Line Group ID 78 (SIP TRUNKS)
Incoming Number XXXXXXX
Destination .

The problem is the routing. I'm getting an inbound SIP Trunk from the FaxServer that I need to direct to an outbound PRI trunk. How do I capture the number from the incoming call (via incoming call route I assume) and send it to a corresponding shortcode to make that number dial out?

So when the fax server sends a fax to 422-3344 that's an incoming call to the IP Office, but I need to turn that around and send 422-3344 to an outgoing PRI trunk (Line Group ID 1).

Again, I appreciate everyones assistance. I just feel like I'm missing something that should be simple.

Creat an extra SIP URI with 3 *'s in the Local URI/Contact/Display, so delete the "Use User Data" and put a * in on all 3. Make the Incomming group ID 330 and an outgoing ID 331 on that URI.

Create a SC;
330N/Dial Fax/0N/LineID 0 if that is your trunk.
331X/331N"@x.x.x.x" (Faxserver SIP trunk)

Create an incomming call route;
LineID 330
IncommNr -0N
Destination 330#

Ps. 331X/Dial Fax/331N"@x.x.x.x"

And to point the DID/DDI number to the Fax Server create another ICR Incomming number 0123456789 (So this is the external fax number)Destination 331X (the X can be 3310 up to 3319).

Thanks everyone for the help. I got this working last night doing the following.

I had the Faxserver prepend a 3 digit number to all calls (564).
I created an incoming call route of:

Line group 5
Incoming Number *
Destination .

That ends up sending it to a shortcode
564N
Dial
N

Everything seems to be working at this point. I truly appreciate all the advice, getting stumped is no fun! Does anyone see any problem with the way I have this working?

Thanks,

Chris

Be careful with using dial fax short codes as you may have problems with receiving from oher brand fax servers.

Using just dial will also use t38. Use dial if you come across any incoming problems
