I am running Office97 in Windows 2000.
When I try to use right, left or mid functions in VBA, i get error messages - 'Object or Library not found'.
I tried the same thing on another machine with same configuration and it works fine.
Please help, thanks.

I only have Office 97 however so this may not help you.
still...
I got a similar problem once and found that I had a missing reference (Tools-->References in code editor)
removing or fixing the reference got rid of the error

This problem can arise when you have a reference set to the incorrect version of Office, e.g. Office 9.0 instead of Office 8.0

As Justin suggested go Tools, references and remove any reference with MISSING in front of it, and set a reference to your version of Office, which should appear in the scroll down list.
