Hi,

I'm using MSIE 6.0, and whenever I right-click on a picture to save it, I encounter 2 different problems.

Problem 1- My files gets saves as .jpe instead of .jpg when I don't change the file name

Problem 2- If I save a file and change the name, in the save dialog box, then the file saves as .file instead of .jpg or .gif. and Windows can't open it.

I encountered this problem in Netscape a while ago too, but I no longer use Netscape. I bascially want help with problem 2.

Thanks alot [deejay]

Don't run IE6.0 so "hearsay" except for tweak...confirmed on my box

Nate here's the WRONG answer....

Here's ANOTHER answer....two parts...SHOULD work.
Empty your Temporary Internet File Cache....! Check size setting...
Run IE6.0 Repair module

Here's a reg tweak if all fails...
Go to Start/Run... type "regedit".
Go to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\MIME\Database\Content Type\image/jpeg
Select Extension.
Change it from .jpe to .jpg

Your second problem may be related to your first one. Make sure you clean up your TIF cache and have decent size set in IE settings...

Thanks smitee,

Appreciate it.
Do you think you could also help me with some kind of registry modification for my other post about Japanese showing up in Windows. thread748-244427
Post it in either this post or that one. Microsoft can't help me, Dell Tech Support can't help me, and I'm not re-installing Windows or formatting.

Thanks :)
