I have a formula on a subreport. When I right click on it I don't get any summary options. I have seen some sample reports where they accomplish this task but I can't figure out how to do it.

this is my formula extcost =
{Part Stock.QTYOH_06}* FetchNumberVar ("price")

Hey,

Try this (I use CR 6.0 so it may be different) but ... click the field which you wish to summerize to set the focus to it. Then click Edit ... there is a summerize field option in the list.

Good luck!

You can't summarize a field in the subreport if you are fecthing a variable. That occurs while printing which is after the summaries are done.

Instead of using FETCH, you can create a parameter in the subreport and link it to a field in the main report. Use the parameter instead of the variable and you can then summarize. Ken Hamady, On-site/Phone Crystal Reports Training/Consulting

Hello Ken, what do you mean by create a parameter to link to the main report. There is already a parameter which is the part number. I am sorry can you be more detail please

Create another parameter field in the subreport, a numeric parameter, called {?price}.

Link this to the main report, to the field that contains the price (Edit-Subreport Links). Ken Hamady, On-site/Phone Crystal Reports Training/Consulting
