Hello,
I've searched all over the net for a cure to this problem but haven't found one that works yet, so maybe someone else has run into the same ordeal....
The problem is: when I right click on one of the icons in the quick launch (on the taskbar), or on a file in windows explorer it can take as long as 1-3 minutes before the menu will come up. Likewise, if I just select a file and press the delete key it can take an equally long time. I've already tried all of the suggestions to take the "flashy XP features" off the menus to speed up the performance. I've even editted a registry key or two to make the menus faster. I've installed all the most recent updates from Microsoft.
The machine that I've having the trouble with is a Pentium 4 2.4Ghz, 256MB RAM, running Novell (4.83 client). I really do not believe it is a hardware issue. If anyone can point down a new path to take to solve this problem it is greatly appreciated.
