This problem is getting on my nerves and I can't seem to make it go away. I have Win98SE. Starting a few weeks ago, whenever I either right-clicked or used the File menu in Explorer or on the desktop, the machine looks to the floppy drive first. If I don't have a floppy in there, it takes a while before the right-click menu comes up. Even if there is a floppy in the drive, it takes extra time to pull up the menu because the floppy always gets hit first.
This problem does not occur if, for example, I'm in Word and I use the file menu, OR if I'm in the Open document dialog box and I right click in there. Just Windows Explorer-type windows.
Anyone have a clue?
thanks
Rachel
