richedit find line and insert?

I want to find a line with a specific character string in it in a RichEdit, and then insert a blank line after it, but I don't know how to search for a line. I can search regular text just fine but then I can't add a return. \n just adds that awkward box-character... Any suggestions, por favor?!?
