We have Crystal reports installed on a number of machines in our office. One of these machines has Windows ME as the operating system and currently has an install of CR8. A machine running Windows NT with an install of CR8.5 allows the user to export a generated Crystal Report as 'Rich Text Exact Format' which then allows the document to be e-mailed to a customer.
The ME machine with CR8 on does not give us this option ?
Having currently misplaced the CR8.5 CD we were wondering if there was a set of DLL's that could be moved from one machine to the other to allow us to run the export as required.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Steve

StevenK,

You are looking for a dll located in the Winnt\Crystal folder with a u2f prefix to the file name.

It is not apparent as to which one it is - I would just compare the two directories to ascertain which one I was missing.

Hope this helps

Thanks for the information. We can't seem to determine which of the DLL's is the one we're looking for. Can anyone indicate which one I should be looking at ?

We found a DLL (named something like 'Crxrtf.dll') which had properties indicating that the original file name was 'u2frtf.dll' (dll on machine with CR8 install).
We tried copying the file from the CR8.5 install machine to the other in the hope that the export as "Rich Text Exact Format" option would become available - with no success. We've tried registering this DLL with regsvr32 with no luck.
Can anyone indicate the file required to allow this export option and can it be transferred from machine to machine ?

The Report Distribution Expert would tell you what DLLs are needed for the report. It's no longer in Crystal, as of V8, but you can download it from the Crystal web site.

The filename is: SCR8_Distr_Expert.exe

I have upgraded my V8 to V8.5 Developer. I now have 2 copies of u2frtf.dll, same size and date, and they are both version 8. Ken Hamady, On-site Custom Crystal Reports Training & Consulting
