RI checks on Foreign Keys defined as NULLABLE

When an insert/update of a table is made and a foreign key is defined as NULL and is set to NULL.

Does DB2 do an RI check or does it skip doing the RI check?

As far as I can see, a foreign key containing NULL is always valid.
