My OS and data volumes keep going corrupt with bad superblock messages. Have ended up rebuilding if OS goes corrupt and if data vol goes then its a reformat. Linux guest OS is tied to FC SAN drives and seondary data drive is on sata drives on SAN.
Also, if I build guest Linux box on ESX with XEN kernel vmware tools will not load. If I build with Centos I can load tools. Is there a difference or benefit to one or the other? Linux newbee.

Sounds like you have issues with your SAN. I would test the storage array for starters.

As for Linux, XEN is another virtualization platform which is incompatible with VMware. Use the VMware tools.
