Hi,

Im using up2date program to update my rh8 system. I have to go through http proxy with authentication. Worked fine and no problem before. Suddenly past few weeks, Im not be able to update. This is the error message that appeared after run the "up2date" command:

Error communicationg with server. The error was : Moved.

Anybody seen this error before?

Redhat isn't supporting Redhat 7.3, 8 and 9 for program update again.

Hi,

Not at the moment. RH still release any update for rh8,9 but not previous version. Yes, Im aware they are going to stop soon. I be able to run up2date program on other machine .

I can't do up2date.Because I already tried few times. But I failed up2date.
So I tought no longer available up2date from Redhat

i ran up2date last night and got the gnupg update. i think you have until dec. 31. i'm not sure, but i think you may still get the .rpm's maybe they just won't be actively looking. i use rh7.3

... and u need to get the latest rhn_register*.rpm and the latest up2date*.rpm. i think you had to rpm -Uvh after aug 28.
as i write this, i am running the update agent, and it ran and told me my system is up to date.

get the rpm's and let us know.

rhn_register*.rpm doestn exist under rh8. up2date packages are up to date to latest version. What am I missing here? I keep getting same error every time i run "up2date" app.

I logged into rhn.redhat.com and went to systems (system not entitled).
And I should buy entiltements.If I want to use up2date.

Do you have yum, as in Yellowdog Updater Modified? It is like uptodate but works from the command line. Enter this command: "yum update" just for kicks. Or do "man yum" for more info.

hmmm never heard of yum before. im using rh8. i suppose no yum.
