I downloaded and burned the 5 RH8 CDs. The problem is they won't autorun when I boot my computer with them. I burned them properly (iso). I didn't have this problem with RH7.

I tried to run the autorun file from the CD and got the following error:

Code:
./autorun: /usr/bin/redhat-cdinstall-helper: No such file or directory
./autorun: exec: /usr/bin/redhat-cdinstall-helper: cannot execute: No such file or directory

Any ideas? Thanks.

What type of media did you burn them onto? CD-R or CD-RW? If you used CD-RW they will only boot from the drive they were burned on. Another thing you may look for is to make sure the diretory structure is there. If it is still an iso image, you forgot to do something. :)

It may also be possible that booting from CD is not available in your machine's BIOS, or that booting from CD has been turned off.

If it turns out that your BIOS does not support booting from CD, there is a Win32 utility on the first CD that will allow you to create a boot floppy. ______________________________________________________________________

I burned them onto CDRs and the directory structure is there. I did everything the same way I always have.

Booting from the CD is indeed an option in my BIOS... and it is enabled.

Thanks for the replies. Any other ideas?

Make the boot floppy. Boot from that floppy with the first CD in the drive.

If you can get it up and beginning the install process, RH8 gives you the opportunity to check your install CDs. It runs a checksum operation of some kind on the entire CD. I recommend you run that check against all of your CDs before you try to complete the install. ______________________________________________________________________
