One of the first things I noticed when I upgraded my Red Hat box to 7.3 is that some configuration files, like httpd.conf for example, use different colors to differentiate different parts of the file. Where can I read some documentation on how this new feature works?

Thanks,
Chris

I think that would be a function of your editor or viewer.

What software are you using to view the file?

I like the new feature a lot. You know immediately if the syntax in a config file is wrong, because it will change to a different color while your typing to let you know that its incorrect or incomplete. This corrects any spelling mistakes and any syntax errors before you save the file. This works with just about all of the config files I use.

I know this is an old post, but here's the answer to my own question...
