RH7.3 Tape Problems

Just purchased a new Quantum SDLT320. driver installed and configured properly, no scsi bus problems. cannot pull a status or copy any data. Drive immediately goes down. Quantum support is sure this is an error with redhat, does anyone have any experience with this type of problem with these drives? Just replaced a DAT80 that worked flawless on the same controller. No Problems.

What RedHat release are you running and is it a server/workstation? Need more information.

It is certified for RH 7.3 Server.

How much memory? New tape?

7.3 server. 1gb ram. I am hoping that it is a quantum problem. they are sending a new drive as we speak. I will let you know.
