Redhat7.3 with ppp and rp-pppoe updated .RPMs.
When I run adsl-setup, all questions complete and the script writes file "/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-"
This obviously is broken isn't it? I was curious why it wasn't "ifcfg-ppp0" or something similar.
I also noted that /etc/ppp/pppoe.conf wasn't created/didn't exist. I wrote one myself, which has calmed down a few errors, but "adsl-start" can't make any signon progress. Works with same settings in Windows with SBC/Yahoo software.
I noted that I don't have a device /dev/ppp0, is that a problem? I don't know if there is supposed to be one since there isn't a /dev/eth0 or /dev/eth1. I never paid attention until now. The two ethernet cards are working great.
Why would this be broken? Any tips?
Thx.
