New install on ProLiant 1850R. All equipment good, can perform a RH7.1 install flawlessly. RH7.3 CDs are believed good, a second set from another source.
After bootup by CD to regular graphical install mode, buncha DMESG startup info scrolls by, Smart Array recognized and SCSI driver loaded, starts Anaconda probes, successfully probes and reports video card, successfully probes and reports monitor (CTX PR705F), and then freezes with no further output. Graphical mode cursor not visible after freeze, text mode cursor still flashes on freeze.
I cannot bypass this by trying 'text' install mode and it still runs Anaconda in 'linux noprobe' startup mode. I wondered if it was a bad mouse, so I disconnected the mouse cable at back of server, ran install in 'text' mode, no change - still hangs.
QQs:
1) What is the next likely device being probed by Anaconda in this startup sequence?
2) How can I skip Anaconda, the device or something to get past this hang?
I am using a Belkin Omni-View SE 4port KVM for this box, but that installed OK with the RH7.1 install also.
THX.
