I have 2 PC's running XP workong the net via a Cisco 677. They are connected to the router via a HUB.
My problem is how to get the third one online.

Have installed RH 7.2 (full sever) but as this is a new field for me, I'm stuck.

Could You please guide me....step by step on this matter?
The card is installed and drivers too, but I'm not able to get this sorted out.

Thanks in advance

Hi,

Well, its difficult to say absolutely because that router could be configured to act as a dhcp server as well as doing nat. Really all you would need to do is set the lan interface (eth0 is first ethernet card) similarly to the working XP boxes - if they use dhcp in their tcp/ip config then set the redhat likewise; If they have a static IP address then set one in the same subnet for the redhat box.

Its only IP routing really - the adsl is irrelevant the client side of the router.

If you installed the X gui then just see this --> . I'm not sure if that works in console mode but you can try it - command '/usr/sbin/neat' .

Otherwise you can directly edit /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0 . See -->
You may also need to put the dns servers in /etc/resolv.conf .

Hope this helps
