RH 8.0 Install Problem

I am trying to install RH 8.0 on a P233 MMX with 64 megs of ram. I have tried five different drives ranging from 540M - 3G. Every time I get to the point where it formats the drive and it errors out with a message that it cannot format hda2. Any thoughts?

Hi,

Did you try automatically partition and if so did you select remove all existing partitions or are you trying to preserve an existing partition?

I chose auto partition and remove all existing partitions.

Since my initial post, I have been able to install on a sixth drive that I tried but that even took two attempts. Could I have a failing IDE channel on the motherboard? I just can't imagine that five drives are all bad. They are older drives scavenged from old PC's but the chances of all of them having similar problems seems remote.
