RH 8.0 detects Audigy, but doesn't use it

RH 8.0 detects Audigy, and even offers to push the button to test the sound, but when I do so, no sound is produced, and I don't know why.

When I launch KDE, it says that it's got some trouble with the sound, but once again, I don't know why.

Is there any decent hardware manager in RH 8.0?
