RH 7.2 Desktop Icons disappeared!

Hi All,

I have a test machine runing RH 7.2. With both accounts under KDE2 the icons have disappeared. Any ideas where they went? All I get is the taks bar and a blue backround. The box seems to function normally except for that.

hey even i have the same problem but then since i had a tough time configuring my monitor i thought something related to that. i have another machine with same installation but there i dont see any kind of problems at all.

I've had that same problem in the past too with GNOME. There were no icons on the desktop and you couldn't right click anywhere on the destkop either. Unfortunately, I never took the time to figure out what was happening because I was getting ready to format the drive. If it happens again, I'll try to figure it out and post back.

Yeah same problem here too , in GNome when i login as a user . when i login as root, i get everything on the desktop.

please somebody help here.

Check if Nautilus (or GMC, if you are like me and like GMC better than Nautilus) has the "Use Nautilus to draw the desktop" option enabled. You find it under Preferences -> Edit Preferences -> Windows & Desktop. //Daniel
