Our mail server is on a RedHad 7.1 machine running qmail. Is there a way to do a complete "mirror" of the computer just in case it dies. I would like to have an exact replica of the system. Like a Norton Ghost for linux type of thing.

Thanks

tar and cpio will do that, but it takes a lot of command line input and parameters. What media do you plan on backing up to? Or do you just want to do a disk to disk copy? If so, look at uucp.

I'd recommend rsync for this sort of thing; you could run it regularly to keep the server's synchronised with a minimum of data transferred.
