Hi,

Is there somekind of RFC for UserNames?
We want to create our usernames only with digits,
eg: 40040293

Now several IT organizations tell us not to do this, as it's not allowed. But nobody can give me the RFC.
Esspecially it might be an issue on Unix servers (Solaris).

Who can guide me to this RFC?

Thanks,

I don't think it's an RFC, just that some (most?) authentication systems expect usernames to start with a letter.

Chip H.
