RF Fields No Longer Display But They Exist

Ok this is strange.

I'm using CRV11 and pulling down a simple list of data that I need to do a lot of calculations on. I have a lot of Insert Summary values in my RF section and I'm going to use these in formulas to create the actual values I want in my report. And I'm going to have my report output in the RF section.

I'm going along fine creating Insert Summary fields saving and previewing every so often. All of a sudden when I go into Preview mode none of the fields are displayed. They are there in Design mode. They are there in Preview mode - I can click on a location where a field is and see the highlighted box. But nothing is displayed.

I figured I might have hit some wall in CR with a max amount of Insert Summary fields but if I go back an delete almost all of them the same thing still appears in Preview mode.

I selected all fields in the RF section and set them to font color of black. I also clicked supress on and then off for all.

I have no idea why these fields don't display. They did about 10 fields ago when I did a save and preview.

Its as if the fields are there but supressed but they aren't.

I've even restarted CR. I'm about to try rebooting my PC.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

I think that you've probably selected a field that was being ignored prior to this, and once you selected it, the join came into play and you are no longer returning any rows.

As you go along, it's advisable to save as and version the report so that you can easily go back to earlier versions, not only for this reason, but also reports become corrupt.

Try eliminating the recent formulas.

Again, version as you work along, this is true with any development in any language on any platform.

Rebooted and restarted CR no difference.

I also added some direct fields from the view I'm selecting from into the detail section. These fields also don't display.

I also created a new simple report unrelated to this report via the wizard and this worked fine. Displayed data like it should. Closed this report went back the problem report it still doesn't display anything.

Thanks for the tip I wasn't versioning.

I should have investigated more on my end. Turns out the table my view was selecting from had all of its data deleted accidentally.

I'm pretty new to CR and I've had a lot of trouble recently with Crystal Reports Enterprise Server - I'm pretty quick to jump on the tool(s) right now.
