Whenever returning from a call(CHANGE PROGRAM) in a subfile program and I try to issue a rewrite on the subfile record I am getting a file status error of 90. I know that everything is getting passed back properly. Just get the I/O error when trying to rewrite. Any Ideas?

Hi,

file status 90 means some kind of problem, but it is not
specific. The right information you should get from the system messages.

Watch them all and try to find all the messages.

It can be helpfull to define a declaratives section.

If you don't work on an IBM mainframe but for example on a Windows NT system, this problem can occur when the record
you rewrite has an other length.

You need to check with your record length . If write then please check the values passed back

Does it answer your question ? If not please get back with a detail information
Thanx
Siddhartha Singh

check to see that the key has not changed before the rewrite. If it has, then the rewrite will fail.

what platform are you coding in?? Mainframe, UNIX. windows?
many combinations through are different...

telling the platform may help considerably.
Karl
mc_karl@yahoo.com

~ ~ ~ ~
