Version 5 of my Overview of Merlin Phone Systems is now available from

This document, roughly 70 pages, documents the history and span of Merlin, from Classic through Magix. It's not a replacement for the programming/use/reference manuals available elsewhere. Instead, treat it like a complete product brochure - what was made since the beginning, and how the systems and phones compare.

The Magix portion is incomplete but a useful start. Voice messaging is absent. Contributions and feedback are welcome.

Enjoy.

John,

Very nice overview, THANKS!

On Merlin II, 7410 also worked, but were admin as 7406D, I'm 95% sure, but it's been a LONG time since I've seen a 008D on merlin II!

I also thought the guide was well written....BUT I dont want to seem like a party pooper BUT.....the Merlin line is a dying animal....I am replacing a couple a week.....

The Magix guide will be must anticipated....

Keep up the good work...

Very nice job, good layout and coverage of subject matter. I suspect the Merlin/Legend will take a long time to die though as there are/will be many users who do not need the latest and greatest. We started with a Merlin II almost 20 years ago, upgraded along the way and now have three Legends networked, still using many of the original ATL sets. Your work will serve as a valuable reference, especially to new users, in deciphering which components work with which system. Thanks.
