Reverting Files

I have a very odd situation. For some reason, every once in a while, ill open a CAD dwg from the network and it will revert back to the changes that i made a couple days ago right in front of my eyes; thus loosing alot of work! My PC is running win XP Pro on a SBS 2003 network. Any ideas, suggestions, etc would be greatly appreciated.
Also the accountant here uses Deltek Financial Managment Systems which now resides on the SQL server as one database. Well she opened some excel files and the files she opened reverted back a week, not in front of her eyes like my DWG issue but it was like they never saved her changes.

Do you have a problem with any Preference Settings that are set in either program?

Is there some type a problem with File Synchronizing?

Do you have shadow copies enabled and are there other users on the network that can access those files?
