I have an 81c and 61c both with mermail. On my 81 in mermail revert dn works as normal but on my 61 after entering revert dn value, I still recieve canned msg"that selection is not recognized" Is there cls that needs to be allowed at set level or system level on mermail?

Is the revert DN in the 61, or the 81? If the revert is in the 81, the Mer Mail agent sets may not have enough NCOS / CLS to let the call go back to the 81. Try setting up a test TN, with NCOS and first item of the CLS the same as the mail agents, and see if that TN can place the revert call.
Also in the Mer Mail, check the restriction permission lists used by the mailbox in question, to be sure the revert DN is allowed.

You set the system wide revert dn in general options.
In Class of service you can set up custom revert dn service, where the user can set their own revert dn, but you have to set a restriction/permision list to keep it secure.
