Hi All,
I have Solaris 8 client (intel).
Problem: Client getting IP from DHCP (NT) server has hostname set to "unknown".
Question:
(1) How can I have the hostname set to something meaningful to comply with the node naming convention of the environment.
(2) Is it possible to reverse the IP addressing to use a statically assigned IP instead of the DHCP server?
Any idea on how to reverse such configuration without reinstalling will be appreciated.
I have tried using a script (placed in /etc/rc3.d/) to set the IP and Node-name, but that caused a logon problem and system went to single user mode.
