Using Project 2007.

I have 10 Tasks to perform.

The last task is really the Project and I am trying to reverse schedule the tasks prior to the last to see when the the lastest date is the preliminary work can start.

I want to see this in the calendar with the last task being Day 1 (or Day 0 if Projects calls it that).

These are my tasks:

Issue PO to vendor
Ship part to vendor
Vendor modifies part
Vendor ships part back
Work package is created
Build First Kit
First Kit arrives to customer
Parts arrive to customer
Install team arrives to customer
Kit installation

These tasks are really the project which must start on 8/1.

First Kit arrives to customer
Parts arrive to customer
Install team arrives to customer
Kit installation

These tasks must be completed prior to the above tasks:

Issue PO to vendor
Ship part to vendor
Vendor modifies part
Vendor ships part back
Work package is created
Build First Kit

Each task is the predecessor to the previous task.
I am trying to get MSProject to tell me when I must Issue the PO but as I work backword, the Issue Po to vendor is the driving task.

Hope I made some help and hope someone can help.

1. Create a normal schedule (make certain all tasks have ASAP as the Constraint Type), make certain all tasks have pred/succ links.

2. Take the task that will have the last Finish date and put a specific Finish date in it.

3. Project > Project Information... > Schedule from and choose "Project Finish date

Perfect!

Thanks for the quick response.
