Is this possible ?

what i want to do, is have on my webpage a counter that returns the number of google search results for the phrase "search the forum"

any ideas ?

Basically, you would make an HTTP call to google.com and extract the result amount from the output using Regex.

You would need to use a server-side programming language so the actual script would depend on what you have available to you.

I'd look into calling it daily though and caching the result the rest of the day as it's not likely to change often and would be a waste to keep hitting Google for the result on each page load.
