I have followed instructions here [], to connect the research pane in MS Word 2003 to a sharepoint site on my company intranet
My problem is that this returns not just results from the specific sharepoint site I connect to, but to my entire company intranet and other sharepoint sites on the intranet.
What I am trying to achieve is to build something along the lines of the encarta research service to provide employees with internal advice researched through entering keywords in the research pane. I don't want to return the whole intranet because that brings back hundreds of documents for each search term, just relevant resources from the sharepoint site I have connected to.
Can this be achieved without writing a custom application?
Thanks...
Intranet sites If your company has an intranet site, you can add it to the Research task pane for easy access. Microsoft Office SharePoint Portal Server 2003 sites are supported. To add a SharePoint Portal Server site to the list of All Intranet Sites and Portals, in the Add Services dialog box, type root directory/_vti_bin/search.asmx.
