Is is possible to set the return-path of qmail to be a specific email address instead of the "root@server" default? If so, where would that be configured?

Thanks for the reply. I am sending email using a php script. I guess I could set the return-path in the email header, but I thought I read somewhere that qmail (or qmail-inject) overwrote the return-path. Does it?

No, I believe if you set the header via script or client that qmail does not need to write it. I suppose what you're seeing is that qmail is trying to deal with "missing" headers according to RFC?
