return Characters in subject line

how can I stop return Characters turning up in the email subject line

is this internal mail? or mail comming from the Internet?

Thank you for this response, this is internal pop3 mail, had one thought if subject is too longe does Group wise add a return before the end of the subject line.

so users that utilize a pop3 client to get mail see the return character in the subject line of mail the get from the pop3 service? Can you post an example of what the users are seeing?
