Retrying Channels.

I have a problem with Channels that remain in a retry state. On the NT side I have a Sender channel which connects to OS/390 where there is a Requester channel. If my link between the two channels ends abnormally, the sender channel goes inactive but the Requester remains running. When the links between the two recovers, the Sender goes into a retry state and the Requester remains running. The only way to resolve this is by stopping the Requester channel with a Force command and restarting it. Does anyone have a solutions for the Requester Channel to go inactive once the link between the two is lost? Your assistance is appreciated. S/W NT4 SP6a, MQ5.1.4 or MQ5.2.1
