...well at least I hope so!

I've just taken over the mac side of support and need some help with retrospect. It seems a little too easy to use - too easy that I'm wondering how do I do differential backups?

Here's my situation:
I'd like to do a full backup on a monday - requires 3 DLT tapes. I would then like to run differential backups (or something similar) from tuesday to friday. The only options are Recycle backup, new media, and normal. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Thanks in advance.

A normal backup will do what you want: add only new and changed data to the existing backup set.

A full backup will do all data to a new tape; a recycle backup will overwrite the tape if the script allows it.

Don't let the ease of use make you nervous; it's a great program. You don't need to restrict it to the Mac clients either; I've used in a mixed environment for years.
