retrieving information

I'm wanting to be able to gather information from various web sites and present it on mine for example:
to give an insurance quotation to a customer where the quotation will be given by another web site.
I have been told that the XML application Resource Description Framework (RDF) will be the best tool
for this. Can anyone give any advice?
