My Win2000 PC stopped booting with a "Boot.ini" error resulting in a "ntoskrnl.exe" error. I re-installed 2000 into another folder and the machine now boots but I can't seem to get to my stored email messages from my Outlook Express folders. I can search for my named folders (such as INBOX) and find it buried in my user folder path but when I view that path using explorer, so I can transfer those files to another machine, or try to import those files onto another machine, the path stops at a long string of characters as a folder name e.g. {1ECBE5F7-451A-4FA1-A177-B9A60EE77CB4} and the subfolders of this folder (which should be my Outlook Express folders) don't appear. How can I get to these old emails???? Thanks!!!!

Have you tried doing a search function for the .dbx files? By any chance are all files set to be displayed in Explorer? joegz

Yes, I can find the dbx files when I do a search but I can't get to the path either through explorer or the import function within Outlook Express on another PC.

I have selected to view all hidden files, including system files within windows explorer but they still seem to be hidden.

Thanks!.....
