I recently had a hard disk crash. I removed the hard disk form the computer that crashed and put it into another computer as a slave drive. WE have full access to the crashed disk, however we cannot get into the user folder where all of the important files are. How can we retrieve these files, if possible?

An expedient answer would be very much appreciated; there is time-sensitive data on the disk.

take ownership of the files/folders in question, therefor u need admin rights.

What is the OS of the computer you put the bad drive on, is it the same as the one it was on?

i had several bad drives. Booted a system from the CD with Caldera Dos. Free download. Had good drive and the bad drive. Transferred the data from the bad drive to good drive thru dos copy program. Rebooted system with reg OS and all the data there. Transferred quickbook, pictures and movies this way.

good luck
