How can I retrieve data from COM port and write them to a database table in Paradox 10?
Are they any ObjectPAL methods, which I can use to retrieve data from COM port (using barcode reader) and write them to a form or Paradox 10 table.
I work on Windows XP.

Woldi,

There is no native COM control in Paradox but you can use active-X to do the job, there are a number of active-x components available at
Instead of using a encoded (Com Port) barcode reader I suggest using a decoded reader with a keyboard wedge. With a keyboard wedge the reader simply plugs inline with the keyboard and can scan directly into Paradox just as if you were typing. I use this type of barcode reader in several of my applications and it works GREAT with no programing required. You can find great deals on scanners on e-bay, many for less than you will spend on an active-x control.

Hope this helps
