Hi,

Im using php together with mySQL to upload images and other binary files to a database, and I have a question about the mime type of images that are uploaded. In the database table I want to have a field for file type, which would contain the mime type of the file for use in displaying the image. Is there a way to automatically insert the correct mime type of the file into this field when I upload the file? I tried using the $CONTENT TYPE variable but it returns a value like:

multipart/form-data; boundary=---------------------------23438551310788

instead of something like image/gif.

Any ideas?
